Abstract
•Sulfur doped carbon nitride (SCN) graphite phase was synthesized by high temperature thermal polymerization.•A peel-off layered g-C3N4 photocatalyst was successfully synthesized-sulfur fluoride doped carbon nitride (F-SCN).•Through the degradation of methyl orange, the fluorination conditions of F-SCN were optimized.•F-SCN has good photocatalytic degradation effect on methyl orange under the simulated visible light condition.
