Superimposed mineralization in the Tongbai composite orogen, central China: Revealed from geological and geochronological data of the Yindongpo gold deposit

•Two discrete mineralization are recognized at the Yindongpo gold deposit in the Tongbai composite orogen.•The early mineralization occurred during 409–396 Ma related to the Devonian accretionary orogeny.•The late mineralization occurred during 133–127 Ma related to the Cretaceous intracontinental orogeny.•U-Pb dating of hydrothermal minerals with high closure temperature is reliable for revealing superimposed mineralization.
