Constraints on the evolution of the eastern margin of the Hearne craton: New data from the southwestern Rottenstone Domain, Trans-Hudson Orogen, Saskatchewan

•A new 2045 ± 9 Ma age for granite interpreted as rift-related magmatism along eastern Hearne craton.•An age of 2518 ± 6 Ma for augen granite provides confirmation of Archean rocks in Rottenstone domain.•Southern Rottenstone Domain is more closely affiliated with Hearne craton than with juvenile rocks of Reindeer Zone.•Howard Lake shear zone likely represents a fundamental structural break separating Hearne craton from Reindeer Zone.
