Septal e’ and LAVI as predictors for HFpEF in diabetic population

Diabetes and heart failure are two entities that contributes major challenges to health and society that reach epidemic proportions worldwide. It been shown that the number of patients with heart failure with preserve ejection fraction (HFpEF) appears to be increasing compared to heart failure with reduce ejection fraction (HFrEF) due to increasing number of metabolic disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the prevalence and risk factors are not well studied in our population.
