Pancreas transplantation following donation after circulatory death

•Pancreas transplantation is a viable treatment option for patients with diabetes mellitus.•Donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors are a possible mechanism to expand the donor pool.•Preliminary results suggest that outcomes of pancreas transplantation from DCD donors is comparable to those from donation after brain-death (DBD) donors.
