Active Vibration Suppression of Transonic Wind Tunnel Models by The Method of Receptances.

During transonic wind tunnel tests, when flow separation occurs in high angle of attack, the model may encounter destructive sting vibrations, leading to data quality degradation and test envelope limitation. An active vibration suppression system based on piezoelectric stack actuator is utilized to solve the model vibration problems. An experimental system is constructed, and a closed loop feedback control system is established with virtual instrument. A fast tuning method of control parameters based receptances method is proposed to meet the requirement of changing model state frequently. Verification tests are performed in transonic wind tunnel. The results show that the active vibration suppression system achieves the purpose of over 80% reduction of the model vibration, which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
