Abstract
Babb, James F.McLaughlin, Brendan M.Charge transfer in collisions between atoms and ions is of fundamental interest for many applications. In this paper, radiative charge transfer processes, in which an atom and ion collide and emit radiation in the vibrational continua of the initial and final quasimolecules, are discussed. After a brief historical review and discussions of applications to astrophysics and to ultra-cold collisional energies, two case studies are described.
