Agile Game in Practice

This paper aims to assess the suitability of the two teaching approaches to practice the agile Scrum methodology. The first approach uses a desk game to teach agile methodology, and the second approach uses an agile game with Jira software. The participants of these games evaluate both methods from the point of view of their satisfaction and usefulness. The participants like the use of Jira software, which is now widely used for IT project management in real practice. Introduced agile games increase students’ ability to appropriately communicate and to work together like a team, which are basic principles of agile methodologies. Teaching agile methodology through games is very beneficial and positively evaluated among participants. Therefore, the presented games can be considered useful for learning the basic principles of agile project management.
