摘要

•Plasma metabolomic changes were assessed in Yili horses for the first time.•The metabolomic changes in plasma of horses were detected after racing on tracks with different surface hardness.•Our findings indicated the potential of vitamin C and methylmalonic acid as novel biomarkers of equine locomotor injury.
