Abstract
In this study, we report the structural, optical, and surface properties of copper oxide (CuO) nanostructures that were produced using the chemical co-precipitation process at various specified pH values ranging from 8 to 12. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and elemental analysis (EDX) were used to describe the structural properties of the produced nanostructures, while UV-visible spectroscopy was used to examine their optical properties. The study of X-ray diffractometer patterns indicates the pure phase formation of CuO and this purity loses when pH reach to 13 where the impurities presented in the CuO. scanning electron microscopy images show the structural changes from nanoparticles shape at (pH 8) to nanoflowers shape (pH 10). The absorption band of CuO nanoparticles shows a blue shift with increase of pH.
