摘要
•Reconstructed membrane vesicles were prepared by hypoosmotic shock of microalgae.•The vesicles were soft, hydrophilic and permeable.•The ability of vesicles to transport dyes depends on the dye and membrane properties.•Cytoplasmic and chloroplast proteins were more abundant than lipids.•The vesicles reconstructed from microalgae could serve as sustainable drug carriers.
