Creation of digital contents in primary teachers in training

The objective of this research is to describe the self-perception of students starting Primary Education Degree have about their capacity to create and manage contents. This capacity has become our society in something fundamental and constitutes an appropriate educational task. This study has employed a descriptive-interpretative and ex post facto methodology, using a questionnaire (COTACREA) for the data addressed from University of Leon. After collecting data of more than three hundred students over several years, results of research indicate that the students in the sample are scarcely competent in content creation, especially databases, web design and poor use recording / editing of audio and video. They are self-considered competent mainly with Word Processors and Presentations. 90% are unaware of Creative Commons licenses and depending on their interests download or search for Internet material (mainly videos) without thinking about copyright. There are eight factors that explain 68.775% of the variance. The factors found are quite numerous and allow intuiting a reality influenced by many variables. The students do not present the profile of the prosumer and don't worry for Copyright; the shortage of programmers is striking. It is important the strong agreement of these results with the researches reviewed and that the improvements in this dimension pose a challenge for the future. However, it is important to remember that results show self-perception of the participants.
