摘要
Titanium alloy is widely used in aerospace, aviation and military industry. However, titanium alloy is sensitive to adiabatic shear damage due to its low density and low thermal conductivity, and it is easy to produce adiabatic shear band under impact. In this paper, the dynamic mechanical properties and deformation failure characteristics of TA2 titanium were studied by using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The experimental results show that TA2 titanium exhibits strain rate sensitivity and thermal softening effect. At the same time, the microstructure and metallographic analysis of the recovered sample showed that the adiabatic shear band was in the opposite biconical shape in space, and the crack propagated along the adiabatic shear band when the sample was destroyed.
