Encoding interactive scripts at 10 months of age

•Ten-month-old infants can associate observed actions with specific social reactions.•Only truly interactive observed social exchanges are encoded.•At 10 months of age, infants encode other’s interactions with high specificity.•Dual habituation is useful to investigate infants’ encoding of social exchanges.
