Abstract
•Twenty new benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized.•Compounds 6a, 7b and 8b inhibited biofilm formation, pyocyanin and rhamnolipids production.•Compounds 5a, 5c, 5e, 6c, 7a, 7d and 7e induced virulence factors.•MDS confirmed that compounds 6a, 7b and 8b act as LasR antagonists.
