Direct substitution of the hydroxy group of alcohols with N-nucleophiles mediated by the substoichiometric amount of Selectfluor™ F-TEDA-BF4 as a precatalyst under mild reaction conditions

•Selectfluor™ F-TEDA-BF4 as an efficient, selective, and metal-free precatalyst.•Selectfluor™ F-TEDA-BF4 mediated C-N bond formation reactions under mild reaction conditions.•Scale-up reaction has been accomplished with excellent yields.•The method includes primary and secondary benzyl alcohols and secondary and tertiary alkyl alcohol.
