Multi-objective building energy system optimization considering EV infrastructure

•An energy system optimization framework considering ZEB conditions and EV charging demand is proposed.•Machine learning models and Energyplus simulation are incorporated to predict building energy demand.•SGA2 and PROBID are applied to solve the multi-objective optimization problem.•EV charging demand can impact energy system design.•ZEB criteria can be the economic buffer to achieve zero carbon emissions.
