摘要

•Lower serum levels of PLK1 were found in septic patients and correlated with intestinal permeability.•Overexpression of PLK1 alleviated intestinal barrier dysfunction and mortality in septic mice.•The protective role of PLK1 in sepsis may be associated with its regulation of the release of IL-6.
