摘要

•Hierarchical TiO2/g-C3N5 Z-scheme photocatalyst has been prepared for the first time.•g-C3N5 harnessed a wide range of photons from the visible region.•Improved water purification is demonstrated by TiO2/g-C3N5 photocatalyst under visible light irradiation at low intensity.•The mineralized products was confirmed through the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
