Abstract
The article describes the possibility of using and the principle of operation of a Cost Oriented Cyber-Physical System (COCPS) for intelligent microclimate and air quality control in pig farms. The proposed cyber-physical system is based on open-source software in order to reduce the initial cost for the farmers. The parameters to be monitored and controlled are described. The described algorithm for the cyber-physical system, takes timely action before unfavorable conditions for the farmed animals are reached, thus provides optimal and healthy environment for the animals, increases productivity and helps achieving lower energy consumption of the buildings and optimal amounts of food intake of the animals.
