•Air ingress scenario was analyzed for the HTR GEMINI+ prismatic block type reactor was analyzed using system codes MELCOR and SPECTRA.•Design Basis Accident scenario, a 65 mm break of a Helium purification line on top of the Steam Generator, was analyzed with MELCOR and SPECTRA.•Large air ingress scenario, a guillotine break of the coaxial gas duct was analyzed with MELCOR and SPECTRa.
