Research Status and Trends of Reverse Innovation-Based on CiteSpace Knowledge Graph Perspective

Since Immelt and Govindarajan put forward the concept of reverse innovation in 2009, reverse innovation has attracted the attention of scholars, but the concept of reverse innovation is still controversial, and the criteria for defining reverse innovation are not uniform. This article reviews the theoretical origins and characteristics of reverse innovation. On this basis, the CiteSpace visual analysis software was used to analyze the knowledge graph of 164 articles in the core collection of Web of Science from 2009 to 2021. It shows the multi-dimensional research status, research hotspots and evolutionary trends of reverse innovation in literature co-cited and keywords analysis. It also reviews the research progress of reverse innovation and future research directions from three aspects: basic propositions, research methods and research perspectives.
