•Sintering BFO-BT piezoelectric ceramics at low temperature below 900 °C.•Low-temperature sintered BFO-BT ceramics maintain superior electrical properties.•Good thermal stability of BFO-BT ceramic with high Td around 300 ℃.•High piezoelectricity of d33 > 119 pC/N in wide temperature range.
