Design and Analysis of ISAR System based on Microwave Photonic Generated Signal and Electronic Receiving Link

Abstract
This paper presents the design of ISAR system based on microwave photonics generated signal and electronic receiving link. The microwave photonics (MWP) ISAR system based on linear frequency modulation continue wave (LFMCW) is designed, and the technical parameters of each component are analyzed. This system uses the external LFM signal with 2.6GHz center frequency and 0.4GHz bandwidth to obtain the 6-time frequency LFM signal with 15.6GHz center frequency and 2.4GHz bandwidth through microwave photonics method. At the receiving end, the method of electronic de-chirping is used to down convert the radar echo signal. After electronic analog to digital converter (ADC), ranging and imaging are processed. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that, under the condition of average transmitting power of 30W, the range of continuous frequency modulated continuous wave radar based on this ISAR system can reach 2km.
