The prevalence of incisional morbidities did not differ between pregnant and control mares undergoing colic surgery. Several factors were associated with incisional morbidities, including the duration of surgery and anesthesia, anesthetic variables, abdominal bandage use, previous ventral abdominal incision, and longer duration of hospitalization.
