Study on light absorption of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite solar cells enhanced by gold nanobipyramids

•The LSPR effect of gold nanobipyramids can significantly improve the light absorption efficiency of the perovskite solar cells, and the maximum increased by 45.48%.•The effect of the depth of gold nanobipyramids on the light absorption enhancement efficiency of perovskite solar cells was revealed.•The effect of the number of layers of gold nanobipyramids on the light absorption enhancement efficiency of perovskite solar cells was studied.•The reasonable arrangement of gold nanobipyramids in perovskite layer was discussed.
