摘要
Prevention and monitoring are fundamental to improve migraine patterns, though evidence about the effectiveness of educational and e-educational interventions is poor and controversial. We aimed at describing the prototype of a mobile app aimed at educating and monitoring through a diary people with migraine. We considered quality standards described in the literature, included a behavior change technique, performed a Strengths–Weaknesses–Opportunities–Threats (SWOT) analysis, and ensured data protection. The educational section of the app and individuals’ active participation in monitoring is expected improving their knowledge about migraine and its management. Using the app will be proposed to other Italian headache centers. Main components of the app are back office and user interface. Back office will be used only for individuals attending headache centers and allows individuals registration and baseline data insert, insertion of new questions and questionnaire for the user interface, creation of projects grouping relevant questions, insertion of a headache center, and export data in.csv. User interface includes general description of the app, log-in procedures, and a ‘tab’ interface including migraine diary, questionnaires (including knowledge evaluation), ongoing therapy, appointments schedule, menstruation calendar, and educational section. This latter includes questions and answers about migraine causes, treatment, management, trigger, and perpetuating or protective factors. We will evaluate changes in migraine knowledge of centers-registered individuals after 3 and 6 months and correlation between diary compliance and knowledge. SWOT analysis clearly depicts a useful tool for individuals, clinicians, and research with ensured quality and data protection, and high educational potentials.
