Abstract
Colorectal cancer is currently the third largest cancer in the world, which is usually diagnosed by colonoscopy and pathological analysis. The traditional method has challenges such as time-consuming procedure and limited field of view. In this work, 64 human colorectal samples were scanned by acoustic-resolution photoacoustic microscopy (AR-PAM), then we performed time-frequency analysis on photoacoustic (PA) signals from benign and malignant tissues leveraging continuous wavelet transform. The experimental results show that the benign and malignant colorectal tissues can be distinguished by photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) and wavelet transform analysis, which paves the way for judging the depth of invasion of colorectal tumors.
