Revaluation of Fixed Assets as the Main Factor of Non-Optimal Capital-Labour Ratio in Ukraine

The causes of a non-optimal capital-labour ratio at the industrial enterprises of Ukraine are considered. The more important factors in the relative excess of expenses of the basic capital in comparison with labour costs are defined. The main consequences of and motives for the revaluation of fixed assets, initiated by the enterprises themselves, are analysed. The dynamics of depreciation funds and their intended use, the impact of these processes on the renewal of fixed production assets in industry and on the competitiveness of products (work, services) are studied. Practical measures to improve the depreciation and investment policy of the state are recommended.
