摘要
Wound healing is a worldwide health problem with several challenges, including the incidence of type II diabetes. Therefore, the necessity for a successful and easy-to-use wound covering biomaterial is crucial. An innovative porcine acellular dermal matrix (ADM) was established to enhance wound healing for prolonged wound healing medical conditions. The ADM is manufactured from the porcine hide, which is chemically similar to the human skin. The supercritical carbon dioxide (scC02) was used to manufacture ADM. To assess the complete removal of cells from ADM, H&E staining, and DAPI staining were performed. This ADM was shown to exhibit excellent efficacy in accelerated wound healing. Two separate formulations of ADM were derived to generate ADM powder and ADM paste for deeper wounds. In the current investigation, we compared the wound healing efficacy of ADM paste and ADM powder for advanced wound healing in the rat model. The scC02-derived ADM showed excellent biocompatibility with no changes in the body weight of the experimental animals. In addition, the wound healing rate of both dermal ADM paste and ADM powder were similar. To conclude, both ADM paste and ADM powder produced by scC02 technology are without toxicity, have excellent biocompatibility and enhance wound healing equally in the rat skin wound model.
