摘要
Once they reached the age of 60, many used to start thinking about stopping work or at least reducing its quantity. It would have been easy for EORTCs 60th birthday celebrations in September to become an exercise in self-congratulation, and, indeed, the organisation that gave birth to collaborative clinical research at a European level does have a past to be proud of. For example, without the ability to collaborate to recruit patients with rare cancers from all over Europe, today's accurate answers about the best treatment for these patients would still be scarce or even non-existent.
