The relationship between eating disorders and OCD symptom dimensions: An explorative study in a large sample of patients with OCD

•One in ten people with obsessive compulsive disorder also has a lifetime eating disorder.•People with both disorders generally show a more severe form of psychopathology.•People with both disorders more often have posttraumatic stress disorder.•Symptoms of depression, social anxiety and trauma should be considered in treatment.
