Exposure to natural environments during pregnancy and birth outcomes in 11 European birth cohorts

•We analysed harmonised data of 11 European birth cohorts located in nine countries.•Residential surrounding greenspace was related to higher birth weight and lower odds of SGA.•Residential distance to greenspace was related to lower birth weight and higher odds of SGA.•Participants with lower household and individual SES had stronger associations.•The strength of associations was higher for participants living in the northern region.
