摘要
Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) is a well-known driver of immunosuppression and lymphocyte-associated disease progression. Increasing evidence suggests a tumor-intrinsic role for PD-1 in promoting chemoresistance via stem-like features. Moving forward, a recent study implies a novel antitumor mechanism for PD-1 inhibition. See related article by Rotolo et al., p. 621.
