摘要
•Coarctation of the aorta is one of the most common congenital heart disease lesions.•The majority of patients fail to extubate within 24 h after coarctation repair.•Smaller patients and those that received more opiates remained intubated longer.•Fentanyl may prove to be a better analgesic in order to expedite timely extubation.
