Optimal Theory and educational realities for African Americans: Suggestions for humanistic counselors working K-16

Racial inequalities embedded in systemic policies have received increased attention, renewing calls for transforming education systems to ensure life success for all students. This article illuminates humanistic counseling responses using Optimal Theory to address racist educational barriers that limit African American students' success.
