摘要

•Multi quantum well CdS/ZnSe structures with high luminescence intensity were grown by MOVPE.•A «green» CdS/ZnSe laser with a microcavity and longitudinal pumping by a «blue» LD was implemented.•The optical gain in CdS/ZnSe structures with II-type band offsets can exceed 5000 cm−1.•Multi quantum well CdS/ZnSe structures are promising for a semiconductor disk laser.
