Abstract
A novel tunable microwave delay line based on the ferrite-dielectric-vanadium dioxide multilayered structure was developed and investigated. The experimental structure utilises surface spin wave propagating in the yttrium iron garnet film. It was shown that heating of the vanadium dioxide film induces a sufficient drop of its resistance that causes the transformation of the spin-wave dispersion law. This leads to the decrease in the group velocity of the propagating waves providing a growth of a delay time. Namely, experimental structure of 5-mm length offers a tunable time delay range of 15% with the central value of 130 ns at the frequency of 4.33 GHz.
