Multi-Period Reconfiguration for Unbalanced Distribution Networks with Hydrogen Injection

The deepening penetration of distributed generation (DG) imposes tremendous challenges on distribution networks. In this paper, we develop a multi-period reconfiguration model for three-phase unbalanced distribution networks with hydrogen injection. A novel power-to-hydrogen-and-heat model is firstly proposed to improve the efficiency of hydrogen production. Then the methanation process and a gas security management scheme with hydrogen injection are considered to guarantee the security of hydrogen transport. The constraints of hydrogen storage are also added in this work to ensure its utilization. We show that the proposed model can be reduced into a mixed-integer linear programming problem, which means it can readily be solved. Numerical experiments are conducted on the IEEE 34-bus test system to validate the effectiveness of the suggested approach.
