Abstract
•Over 81,000 self-harm episodes among 48,547 individuals aged 10-29 years were identified during 2014-2019 in NSW, Australia.•The incidence of both repeat self-harm andsuicide were highest in the year following the index self-harm presentation.•The risk of repeat self-harm and subsequent suicide is highest among children and adolescents aged 10-19 years.•Youth-specific early and long-term management should be delivered accordingly, especially for those at early adolescence .
