摘要

•Soil N supply and retention were governed by interactive biotic-abiotic dynamics.•Maize straw mulching improved soil N immobilization more than mineralization.•Conservation tillage synchronously accelerated mineral fixation and release of NH4+.•Enhanced DNRA in conservation tillage reduced net nitrification and N loss risk.•Conservation tillage favored effective N cycling and retention in studied Mollisols.
