Abstract
•Chronic fluorosis decreased learning and memory of rats and induced neurotoxicity.•Ginkgo biloba attenuates the impairment of brain and the neurotoxicity in rats with chronic fluorosis and SH-SY5Y cells exposed to fluoride.•The underlying mechanism in that the Ginkgo biloba extract attenuated neurotoxic damage induced by fluorosis may involve inhibition of PARP-1 activity and promotion of the expression of SIRT1.
