Abstract
•An injectable tissue bioadhesive based on amidation between the PEG-SG and PEG-NH2 is fabricated.•The bioadhesive achieves rapid gelling (< 5 seconds) and tough adhesion strength (∼ 30 kPa) for tissue adhesion and wound closure.•The bioadhesive possesses biodegradable performance and robust antibacterial efficiency to E.coli and S.aureus due to introduction of tannic acid (TA).•Animal model Bama miniature pig pre-clinical pancreatectomy is established to evaluate the bioadhesive application.•The bioadhesive can efficiently seal the pancreatic leakage and prevent the pancreas from being infected.
