Feasibility and early toxicity of Intraoperative Radiotherapy for Breast Cancer using the Papillon + system: First results

•The Papillon+tm system is a new Intra Operative Radiation Therapy (IORT) device delivering 20 Gy at the applicator surface with a treatment time of about one minute.•The doses measured with the Gafchromic films were congruent with previous IORT in vivo dosimetry.•No grade > 2 toxicity was observed with a median follow-up of 12 months.
