摘要
Chronic health diseases have proliferated during the past few decades because of increasing air pollution. This effect can lead to a significant increase of lung related diseases, which such correlation can’t be researched without a proper platform. This paper presents a standalone wearable lung performance and real-time air quality monitoring system for persons with respiratory diseases. We have designed and implemented a multimodal Smart Chronic Health Monitoring Tool (SCHMT) consists of peak flow meter (PFM), NO 2 , SO 2 , O 3 , Particulate Matter (PM0.5-10), subject’s body/environment temperature sensors, microprocessor, and Global Positioning System (GPS) unit. The proposed SCHMT helps understand the impact of air pollution on users with chronic lung diseases and connects between chronic patients to their healthcare professionals for remote patient management. The performance of SCHMT is measured and presented in this work. The SCHMT resulted in PFM ranging from 0 to 400 Hz and PM2.5, PM10.0 – ranging from 0 to 20 mg/m 3 . In addition, the NO 2 , SO 2 , and O 3 gas sensors were calibrated and tested at rapid and slow response rates by exposing the sensors to different gases.
