Abstract
Background: Palatalized articulation (PA), which is a common occurrence in children who have undergone cleft lip and palate surgery, is thought to be influenced by palate morphology. To help patients acquire normal articulation, it is better to improve the palate morphology earlier. Case Presentation: In these two cases, dentition expansion was performed during the deciduous dentition stage and resulted in improved articulatory performance. Conclusion: During speech therapy for PA, if the patient still produces incorrect sounds even after their abnormal tongue dorsum raising has eliminated, it is important to investigate the possibility of improving articulation through improving the palate morphology.
