Abstract
In this research, biocoke was produced from corn husks, which is agricultural waste from corn harvesting of food and animal feeding industries. The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of forming temperature on the properties of produced biocoke, which are calorific value, density, and compressive strength. The forming temperature for production of biocoke was varied from 150 to 190 °C. The forming pressure was fixed at 16 MPa, and the forming time was also fixed at 15 min. The calorific value of biocoke from the corn husks increased with the increase of forming temperature from 150 to 170 °C, then the calorific value decreased with the increase of forming temperature from 170 to 190 °C. The density and compressive strength of biocoke from corn husk increased with the increase of forming temperature.
