摘要
•Fluorescent ion sensor is developed based on nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs).•The NCQDs shows a low detection limit of 0.9 μM for Hg2+ ions.•The applicability of NCQDs for Hg2+ detection in river water and tap water was studied.•The acute toxicity of NCQDs to zebrafish was low.
