Structural Regulation of Fiber Biomaterials by Far-IR Radiation

In recent years, far-infrared radiation technique has been employed in chemical, biological, and material research fields, and it can give remarkable effects distinct from a simple thermal treatment on various biological substances. Here, we show a latest study on irradiation effects of far-infrared rays from two-kinds of high-power light sources, free-electron laser and gyrotron, on cellulose fiber that is potential for functional biomaterials.
