Research on the reasonable anchorage length and failure characteristics of resin anchorage system

•The improved PB model is proposed and it can better characterize the strength and failure of rock.•The critical and reasonable anchorage lengths for the bolt under the different surrounding rock has been determineed.•The lengthen the anchorage length for the bolt can effectively limit the faliure of the the soft rock.
